La r\u00e9ponse la plus importante de la communaut\u00e9 internationale \u00e0 cette crise mondiale est la s\u00e9rie de grands sommets organis\u00e9s chaque ann\u00e9e, connus sous le nom de \u201cCOP\u201d. Mais que signifie exactement la COP et pourquoi est-elle au centre de l'agenda mondial chaque ann\u00e9e ?<\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

COP, \u201cConf\u00e9rence des parties\u201d<\/b><\/span> Les \u201cparties\u201d dans le contexte du changement climatique. Dans le contexte du changement climatique, ces \"Parties\" sont Convention-cadre des Nations unies sur les changements climatiques (CCNUCC)<\/b><\/span> pays signataires. La COP, \u00e0 laquelle environ 200 pays et l'Union europ\u00e9enne sont parties, est le m\u00e9canisme d\u00e9cisionnel le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 au monde en mati\u00e8re de r\u00e9chauffement climatique.<\/p>

L'objectif principal de la CCNUCC est de stabiliser les concentrations de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre \u00e0 un niveau qui emp\u00eache les effets dangereux des activit\u00e9s humaines sur le syst\u00e8me climatique. Les r\u00e9unions de la COP sont organis\u00e9es par num\u00e9rotation. Le changement climatique est un probl\u00e8me qui ne conna\u00eet pas de fronti\u00e8res ; une usine dans un pays peut provoquer une \u00e9l\u00e9vation du niveau de la mer dans un autre. Aucun pays ne peut prot\u00e9ger l'atmosph\u00e8re seul. C'est pourquoi la COP sert de table de n\u00e9gociation mondiale pour les pays.<\/p>

L'objectif de ces sommets est d'\u00e9valuer dans quelle mesure les pays atteignent leurs objectifs en mati\u00e8re de climat et de convenir de r\u00e8gles plus ambitieuses pour r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre. Les critiques qualifient souvent les sommets de la COP de \u201cbeaucoup de paroles, peu d'actions\u201d et soulignent que les \u00e9missions mondiales continuent d'augmenter. Mais sans ces sommets, il n'y aurait pas d'accord de Paris ni de d\u00e9cisions telles que l'engagement de tripler les capacit\u00e9s en mati\u00e8re d'\u00e9nergies renouvelables d'ici \u00e0 2030.<\/p>
