What are the MAIN GOALS of COP Meetings?
Although each COP has its own unique agenda, the main goals generally fall under four headings:

COP31’S IMPACT ON TURKEY AND THE REGION
Hosting COP31 is a strategic step for Turkey. Summit, 2053 Net Zero Emissions roadmap and renewable energy investments on a global scale.
For Antalya, COP31 will be one of the largest diplomatic events in the city's history; it will increase international visibility and sustainable tourism will come to the fore. At the same time, it will put the Mediterranean climate crisis, which is facing fires and water scarcity, high on the global agenda.
COP31’S MAIN OBJECTIVES
The primary goal of COP31 is to ensure that countries translate their climate commitments into concrete and actionable steps. Key priorities at the summit will include strengthening the 2035 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), establishing clear timelines for a phased transition away from fossil fuels, increasing climate finance for developing countries, and integrating nature-based solutions into climate policies. COP31 aims to accelerate the ’transition from promises to action“ in line with the goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C.
